Multipurpose low viscosity bonding agent & admixture
SBR Bond is a latex based, water resistant bonding agent and admixture for use in areas subject to humidity, dampness and continuous water contact. It improves water resistance of cement mixtures by forming a reinforcing polymer that increases long-term durability and flexibility of the mix on renderings and floor screeds.
1. Bonding of new to old concrete when used as a slurry coat. Moreover, this product is used to produce polymer modified screeds and floor toppings and waterproof renders.
2. To produce a mechanical key prior to rendering of various plaster mixes on concrete, brick and block surfaces.
3. To produce a repair mortar for patching of honeycombed concrete, internally and externally.
1 Liquid Based Component
1. Where Poly Bond SBR should be used, the substrate should be sound, clean and free contamination. Dilute the bond by Adding water (1-part Poly Bond SBR to 4 parts water)
2. Using an electronic mixer, mix the diluted bond for 3 minutes. more water could be added to achieve the required workability.
3. Add the diluted bond to the cementitious mixture and mix very well once again with an electronic mixer for 3 minutes.
4. Mix very well once again with a mechanical mixer for 10 minutes.
5. Application:
a. As Admixture
Dilute 1-part bond SBR with 2 parts water. Mix thoroughly to obtain uniform consistency liquid. Add the diluted Bond SBR to pre-blended sand/ cement plaster, mortar, or other dry mixes. Mix for 3-4 min using mechanical mixer at low speed. Let the mixture stand for 10 min and mix again briefly to achieve homogeneous lump free mixture.
b. As Bonding Agent
Dilute 2 parts Poly Bond SBR with 1part water. Mix thoroughly to obtain uniform consistency liquid. Apply using brush or spray directly onto substrate. If using hand pump, spray at a rate of 15 m2/liter. While bonding agent is still wet, follow immediately by applying plaster, render, mortars or joint tapes etc.
